Cleveland

Noticed that Huggins said that UC would not be playing in Cleveland this
year. Presumably Huggs likes to go there annually because of his roots in
northeast Ohio, and his ability to recruit guys like Ruben Patterson, Steve
Logan, Mel Levett and Sam Clancy (who got away to Southern Cal). Would it
make sense for UC to schedule other neutral court games in the midwest, like
Indianapolis or even Columbus? Cincy played Notre Dame last year in the
Wooden Classic in Indy. Though the Bearcats stunk out the joint, the exposure
had to be good. I'd love to see UC play IU or Purdue on a regular basis in
Indy and I'd love to see UC play a game periodically in Columbus (in the
Nationwide Arena-Blue Jackets) against maybe Kent State, but more likely West
Virginia or Pittsburgh. I think the neutral court games in midwestern cities
could help UC in its efforts to gain a more regional following. This could
be done in lieu of an away game rather than in lieu of a home game.
