I am serious about it. What's this about? Punishing Donald? You want to take
him out behind the woodshed while you're at it?

His punishment is he is not a member of the team now. That's all (though,
considerable, taking into account the lost opportunities for a young man).
For that matter, Steve Logan, IMac and TD are not members of the team now,
but will be in attendance. Tonight is about recognizing achievements of the
season and the team that played. Donald played.

Sorry, no tears hear...Donald was dismissed from the team for his
"associations with the wrong people", which was at the heart of the
agreement he had with Huggs/UC.  His guilt or lack of it has nothing to do
with his dismissal.  His dismissal should be complete.  It would be
extremely ODD if he were to show up at the gig tonight.  "Why shouldn't he
be there?", for the same reason he shouldn't be on the team.  In my mind, he
has had "his chances" and now he has forgone his due credit.  What if he had
followed up with the "alleged" plan to dump his buddy in Columbus?  Would he
still be due his credit?

To me it should be an honor to wear the uniform and be exulted as a member
of the team, and when his actions supercede that distinction, all of the
privileges should be cancelled.  You can't possibly be serious about Little
showing up at this tonight??!!  Wouldn't that be a strong message to our
kids !!  My two cents...

Now, I've defended Donald many times before, but please don't let that
colour these thoughts: Why shouldn't he be there? He was part of this very
special team, no matter what buffoonery he fell into after the season. Give
the man credit for what good he's done, just as you hold him responsible for
the bad.

Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a chorus of boos should he be
introduced to the crowd tonight. Deserved? Probably. Just a reminder,
though: this case has yet to see a courtroom.

I just stopped by the UC Ticket Office next door to the basketball office at
The Shoe and Donald Little was walking into the office just as I was
leaving.  I think Donald just might be there tonight.
