I can handle soem casual idiot living outside Cincinnati who does not
have his facts. But Kornheiser's job as a radioman and sports reporter
is getting facts straight. There are basically two possibilities: either
(1) he does not know the true facts about the graduation rates or (2) he
is purposely misrepresenting them because of his disdain for Huggs.
Either way, he is failing to do his job correctly and he needs to be
called on it. If I went into work and stood up and misrepresented facts
as part of my job, you better believe someone would call me on it.

I know this may get some people on this board riled up...however, I'm
really
sick and tired of trying to defend the Bearcats graduation rate issue,
UC's "band of criminals" image or "Thug persona" and the list goes on
and on...
I'm a part time bartender in Chicago and every saturday night, I proudly
wear my UC hat while I'm slinging drinks and 9 times out of ten I
usually get in a pretty heated discussion with some drunk spouting off
about all of
the above mentioned issues, regurgitating all the journalistic nonsense
that
writers like Tony Kornheiser publishes. Thus, being a die hard UC
basketball
fan and a UC graduate, it kills me to see that the general public
outside of
Ohio really has a dislike for UC. So, whenever I find myself in one of
those heated bar conversations, I say, "the basketball program that
Huggins and Goin have put in place has given UC the best chance at
winning games and
still being competitive with the likes of Duke, Kentucky and other
basketball powerhouses and you cannot dispute their results, period!"
It really comes down to either you love UC or you hate them. Chances
are if
you hate UC, it probably because you've been misinformed by the likes of
idiots like Tony Kornheiser.

Just heard on the Tony Kornheiser (sp?) show (ESPN 1160) that Nolan
Richardson at Arkansas hasn't
graduated any black players, then somebody said, well, Cincinnati
graduatedno
anybody! Say something enough, and most people will believe it's true,
matter
how untrue it is.
