According to Bill Koch today, an extension is almost finalized for 7 years and an announcement is close. I haven't seen terms yet. I'm sure the Enquirer will file an state open records request for the details when it's done. I've also seen this "almost finalized" before when Whit Babcock was still here and then it went away rather conspicuously when Mike Bohn came on.
Before anyone reads to much into that I'm not saying this isn't happening or won't happen. I'm just saying that personally, I'm waiting for the ink to dry before I get happy about it. I'm not knocking Mike Bohn. I wouldn't sign off on a contract that I didn't negotiate either so I think it's fair to guess that he did due diligence and went back over the details.
Just out of curiousity for those who attended, did any of this come up on the UCATS Riverboat cruise this past weekend?
According to Tom Groeschen and a 247Sports report, the Bearcats and Crimson Tide are close to finalizing a deal that would mean the Cats would presumably open Nippert with 'Bama.
USA Today is again doing a countdown ranking of NCAA football teams, but their format kinda sucks this year. It's presented as a slideshow, so you have to start at the team ranked around 128 and follow the slide show as it counts down. Today, they're on team # 82.
Here are the teams I found, so far, that we play this year:
No. 100 SMU
No. 96 Memphis
No. 93 UConn
No. 92 South Florida
No. 86 Temple
(Ranking Temple higher than SMU, UConn and South Florida is a little of a surprise to me. Maybe someone has insight.)
Others will follow.
